CAMIE TOBIAS, is an associate attorney with Silverberg Zalantis LLC.
Ms. Tobias has extensive experience in municipal building codes, contracts, construction, employment law and the licensing of construction trades and engineering licensure. In addition, she is an experienced litigator in these areas of the law. Her experience compliments the practice areas of the firm in municipal, construction and employment law.
Having worked for her first six years of practice as an investigative and trial attorney for the New York City Department of Buildings, Ms. Tobias researched and analyzed laws, rulings and regulations relating to licensed individuals and businesses, conducted settlement negotiations and trials for cases involving licensees who violated the New York City Administrative and Construction Codes and worked closely with local legislators to assist in drafting New York City Administrative legislation and enforcement procedures. In addition, she engaged in complex administrative and construction litigation under administrative, state and federal statutes relating to disciplinary actions against individuals licensed by the New York City Department of Buildings
Upon leaving the New York City Department of Buildings, Ms. Tobias served as compliance attorney for an international engineering firm for the next six years, before joining Silverberg Zalantis LLC. In that capacity she managed professional and corporate licensure for the company, monitored new legislation and regulatory changes that impacted the corporation in any state where it conducted business and then advised the owner of any necessary actions. She also negotiated and drafted numerous construction, real estate, employee, and corporate contracts and advised the President and Owner on the corporation's compliance needs regarding state, federal and international laws and regulations
Ms. Tobias received a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Legal studies and Conflict Resolution from Brenau University and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
